Products to Protect Your Motors
We offer a wide selection of controls, starters, overload relays, fuses and etc to help you protect your motors from single phasing.
Other products such as Aegis Shaft Grounding Rings and CoolBlue protect your motors from harmful frequencies produced by Variable Frequency Drives.
Controls
- Motor controls are used to start and stop motors, as well as protect motors, machinery and personnel. They can be used reverse motors, change the speed of motors and etc.
Fuses and Circuit Breakers
- Fuses and circuit breakers are protective devices used to protect circuits against short circuits, ground faults, and overloads. Even though the fuses protect the motors against short circuits, it does not protect the motor from overloading. In some applications, it is wise to use overload protection in addition to fuses.
Overload Relays
- Overload protection protects the motor from excess heat, which can damage electrical components.
- They allow non-damaging temporary overloads (when starting a motor) and will trip if current is high enough to cause motor damage over a period of time. They can be reset once the overload is removed.
- Different types of Overload Relays:
- Bimetal overloads
- Ambient Compensated Overload Relays
- Electronic Overload Relays
- Thermal Overload Relays
Starters
- Starter Contactors utilize contactors to start and stop motors and include overload relay protection from over current.
- Different ratings of Starters includes:
- NEMA
- IEC
Aegis Rings
- Aegis Rings provide shaft grounding for motors, generators, and turbines to protect against harmful shaft voltages, typical caused by Variable Frequency Drives. The rings protect the bearings and extend their life.
CoolBlue
- CoolBlue Inductive Absorbers help protect motor bearings from Common Mode Currents (high frequencies) caused by Variable Frequency Drives. Using CoolBlue Inductive Absorbers helps dissipates damaging high frequency noise in order to maximize reliability, reduce maintenance costs and increase uptime.
